WORD STRUCTURE 2010-08
We have to admit that we were quite nervous to work with teenagers. Would they simply walk out on us? The task was to create a workshop for a group of eight. Duration: one and a half hour. As a point of departure we used a scaled-up version of the porous structure. We started with the teenagers writing directly on battens. We gave words to associate from. In less than 30 minutes we had a nice heap of dreams, hopes and fear. We engaged in building, but after ten minutes we could step back. They ran out of battens after 45 minutes. They did not walk out on us. On the contrary, they were a little disappointed we hadn’t brought more material. Building is addictive.
